HEAVENS TO BETSY

Heavens to Betsy is a retail store located in the heart of Ottawa's Westboro Village.

 

After the proprietors explained to me the unique, eclectic, retro flavour of the merchandise they intended to carry, I realized exactly what they needed to establish their presence along Wellington Street.

 

I first suggested the secondary name of the store, “NIC NAC BONANZA”, in order to identify what the store was all about and then proposed a colour scheme that would stand out from other retail stores in the area.

 

After the logo was completed, I photographed many of the oddities from their inventory and featured the photos on some of the print elements including: business cards, postcards and inside the invitation which I designed to look like an oversized book of matches – the photos served as a substitute for the matchsticks.

 

Finally I prepared and printed: business cards, letterhead, price labels, stickers, postcards, gift certificates, website design, invoice template, front window and overhead signage.
