NEW LEASE ON PLANT LIFE
The very rare Bermuda Cedar is such gorgeous wood. Historically valued for construction, ship building and furniture, it is now difficult to find as a juniper scale insect blight in the late 1940s wiped out 95% of the species. Although there is an effort to replant blight-resistant Bermuda Cedars.
This well-loved plant stand was found online. The “before” photo shows the results of hard living. But with a little elbow grease and a top coat of Varathane, the refinishing brought out its true beauty. The depth of colour, variations of tone found in the wood grain is remarkable.
